FSC Approved Wooden Plantation Shutters

It’s Official! California Co Shutters are FSC Certified!
All wooden shutters sold by The California Company are 100% FSC certified. That means, you can rest assured that your wooden shutters not only look fantastic but are manufactured from wood that has been strictly checked to fall within the FSC’s strict guidelines.
FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council. They are a not for profit, independent NGO (Non Government Organisation) which is focussed upon the promotion of responsible forest management. Gaining FSC certification means that the wood our shutters are made from has been fully checked to ensure that it meets the FSC’s strict codes of practice and follows their guidelines.
What does this mean for your wooden plantation shutters? It means that the wood used to make your shutters follows through an FSC approved supply chain. Our factory gained full FSC Chain of Custody certification which means that the wood has been grown in an ethical manner, that does not impact the environment and is harvested legally. With much illegal wood still finding it’s way into the manufacturing chain, we want our customers to be sure that our shutters are made using the very best available, sustainably sourced wood. Making sustainable claims has become de rigeur, however such claims are only valid if they are backed up with official accreditation.
We became the UK’s first plantation shutter company (along with our sister company Shutterly Fabulous) to sell plantation shutters made using 100% FSC certified hardwood.
