With the launch of the brand new interactive website, The California Company includes a unique facility to make your wooden shutters as close to blackout as possible.

Shutters customers using The California Company's new interative ordering system can at the click of a mouse include a concealed blackout roller blind to be pulled down behind the shutter panels to ensure maximium light blockage. While California Company shutters have a design unique in the UK whereby the slats can close with a full 25mm overlap to help light reduction, through the very nature of their design, wooden plantation shutters are not 100% blackout. However, this innovative design sees a completely plain white fabric roller blind installed within the shutter frame but behind the shutter panel.

This means the blind is invisible daytimes, but simply opening the panels, lowering the blind and closing the shutter panels and slats will give the highest level of darkness achievable from a plantation shutter.
