Blinds Design Advice
Rule 3 Tapes or strings?

Offering a wide range of design options for your blinds, we include the option of choosing either thin strings or wider tapes depending upon which range of blinds you choose.
When deciding which option works best for your room, again consider how important the view is for you when having the blinds down and looking through the slats. If you have a very busy window where you have lots of framing or have perhaps leaded glass, tapes can look a little messy on your blinds as it is another vertical visual line running through your sight line. However if you have a large expanse of glass and very little in the way of window framing, or you have your blinds slats tilted at a slight angle (thus meaning you are not looking directly through the slats, open to a 90 degree angle) then tapes would work well.
Tapes can also offer a nice visual contrast to the colour of your blinds slats. Lets say you choose a white Malibu 50mm slat blind and opt for a black or chocolate brown tape – this can look fantastic and the tape can be used as an accent colour, used to pick up this particular colour within your room. A less dramatic effect for your blind, but equally as pleasing aesthetically would be to have a tape colour that is just a slight shade away from the colour of the wood blind. Say white with an ecru tape.
The other option is a regular string, if you are looking for a very simple look. The string is very thin and does not really fall within your sight line and gives a fairly uninterrupted view looking through the slats.
Emailing us a photo of your window can be a good way for us to help you choose which design option would work best for your wood blinds. We are always happy to help.
