Who is The California Shutter & Blind Company?
We are a UK based company with our headquarters in Brighton & Hove, East Sussex. Our business is focused on selling high quality window treatments for self installation at an exceptionally competitive price. This includes blinds and shutters as well as temporary vinyl blinds!
How do I measure correctly for my blinds?
Firstly you will need a good quality steel tape measure. Secondly our blinds measuring guides
will help you to decide if you need to order an EXACT size, a RECESS size or a BAY FIT size blind. Paper templates can be printed out from the website to assist you in obtaining the correct dimensions for bay window blinds.
Are the blinds easy to fit?
Yes ,it is a very straight forward DIY job. Everything you need will be supplied in your delivery including our easy to follow blinds installation instructions
. We supply universal brackets which allow several mounting options.
What blinds do you sell?
The Essential collection is available in a choice of 10 classic paint and stain finishes. Choose either 25mm, 35mm or 50mm slat size and complement these with co-coordinating cords or coloured cotton tapes
The Contemporary collection offers a range of deep grain wood stains or a cool high gloss paint finish. Slat size is 50mm with co-coordinating cords or coloured cotton tapes
The Designer collection showcases a stunning range of modern paint colours, from cool greys to trendy taupes in either a subtle matt or high gloss finish. These 50mm slats come with co coordinating cords or coloured cotton tape option
Our shutter style blind blind is a real style statement. With an elliptical curved 65mm slat it resembles a plantation shutter slat. A very cost effective way of creating that colonial style look!
How do I order my wooden blinds?
We have designed our website to be as customer friendly and intuitive as possible. It is extremely easy to order your blinds directly on our fully secure shopping website. However, we are more than happy to help you by phone and can take your order by phone or via mail if you prefer.
Can you help me choose the best design for my blinds?
Yes. Our website has a unique product visualisation function which helps you picture (almost!) exactly what your blind will look like. However if you need that personal touch please contact us either via email or phone and we can help you design the best blind to suit your home
How can I get a quote?

Can I see a sample?
You can order a free blinds samples samples via our website or by calling us direct. All samples are sent first class and should arrive within 24 hours of request.
From placing my order, how long will it take for my blinds to arrive?
Our average lead time on our wood blinds is between 10 – 14 days
How much is delivery?
Mainland UK delivery is FREE, Monday – Friday (anytime from 9am - 6pm) and unlike most other blind companies we will deliver on the day of your choice. In addition you can choose to request a morning delivery for an additional amount. £15.00 Mon - Fri or £25.00 Saturday
Overseas shipping plus Highlands & Islands do carry some additional costs.
What happens if I have a problem with my blind?
In the exceptionally rare instance that you have an issue with your blind when it arrives, please make contact with us immediately. We will then be happy to help.
Is my blind guaranteed?
Yes – your wooden blind is delivered with a full 12 months guarantee.
