65mm slats Shutter Style Blind lounge wooden blinds
Maple blinds, like the ones chosen by this customer in Brighton, Sussex have long been a popular selection. The blinds were for their lounge, they had quite wide windows in their lounge which faced the sea, right on the Brighton, Sussex sea front. They wanted blinds for their windows to help with both reducing light on bright summer days where the light pours into their lounge and also make the most of their outstanding sea views. Another customer from further along the coast in Bournemouth chose maple venetian blinds from our Contemporary collection.
The Shutter Style Blinds are custom made so they will be made to your exact specifications, for tall or wide windows this is brilliant as the Shutter Style Blind range have extra strong mechanisms, a reinforced metal box for the heavier blinds with the larger wooden slats and the general additional weight within the blinds. To see how straight forward it is to measure blinds, please take a moment to read through our blinds measuring guide.
Having blinds with slats which are larger means that you get more light coming through between the gaps when you have the blind slats tilted open. You can tilt the blinds slats so that they are closed, or partway closed in either direction to reduce the harsh glare from the sun, definitely something worth considering if you have a lot of sun pouring in and you want to ensure that your furnishings stay protected from discolouring. This was certainly a consideration for our Brighton blinds customer when they selected these blinds for their lounge.
The larger 65mm slats in the Sugar Maple blinds in the customers lounge gives enough space between them to be able to see the view when the slats are open. Although it is nice to have clear windows, they said that the blinds dressed the window and stopped people from staring into their lounge on a summers evening, so that they can enjoy their Brighton seafront views throughout the year !
