Bay Shutter Slats Closed
This shutter image shows the fantastic end result for an enthusiastic DIY shutter customer in Lincoln who found the plantation shutters very simple to install!
Shown are full height plantation shutters with a mid rail which are a great option for bedroom shutters. They allow for separate control of the shutters slats on the upper and lower sections of the shutter panels. This is ideal when you want privacy on the lower half of the window (in which case you tilt the shutter slats closed) and leave the top half open to get the maximum amount of light into your bedroom.
Full height shutters with a mid rail are a great alternative to tier on tier shutters (also known as double hung shutters) and they generally block out more light than tier on tier shutters which have a small gap between the top and bottom shutter panels. An added advantage is that when all of the slats are open on full height shutter panels more light comes into the room than with tier on tier shutters as there are less solid wood rails on them.
This shutter photo shows black walnut shutters with 64mm slats and regular push rods. They are installed with a 4031 outside mount frame.
