Bay Window Mid Rail Open
Victorian Bay windows and Edwardian Bay Windows are amongst the most popular windows to which our customers fit wooden plantation shutters.
Tier on Tier shutters are a popular design if you are very sure that you are going to open back to top section of shutter panels. However another alternative that works very well is to have full height shutters with a mid rail.
The shutter mid rail or divide rail can be located wherever you like on the shutter panels. The shutter mid rail has the effect of dividing the slats on the upper and lower section of the panels. You can therefore tilt the slats on the lower section at a slight angle for privacy and tilt the top section of slats open to 90 degrees to give maximum light and a clear view out the slats.
This photo shows full height shutters with 2 panels on the left window section that are hinged left, 3 shutter panels in the centre with 2 panels hinged left, 1 right and the 2 shutters on the right window hinged right.
They are in black walnut with 64mm slats with a regular shutter push rod on the front.
