Full Height Bay Shutters
This bay window is not the typical 3 section bay window, which would often have the plantation shutters mounted on the face of the window architrave (which we class as outside mounted). These 3 windows have had replacement uPVC windows which resulted in there being a small recess. As such it was possible to use a 3 sided Z frame on this installation. The Z frame gives a 'picture frame' look around the window on 3 sides leaving the sill free and is often used on regular windows where the customer wants to fold the shutter panels back onto the wall.
These plantation shutters have full height panels with midrails to enable the bottom slats to be closed completely for privacy but have the top slats open to enjoy maximum light. The off white colour Shell draws light into the room as do the 89mm slats. Once again you can see that plantation shutters open up a room giving a streamlined, modern look and there are no bulky, dust collecting curtains taking up valuable space!
