Full Height Shutters with Mid Rail
Full height plantation shutters with a mid rail give fantastic flexibility in terms of light control. This photo shows a bedroom window with 4 full height panels with a mid rail which means that the slats are split above and below the mid rail points. This design is very popular on ground floor windows where the shutters can be left in position and the slats on the lower half tilted at a slight angle for privacy while the upper section of shutter slats can be left fully open to allow maximum light to come through. As these plantation shutters are fitted on a busy Hove street the midrail option is perfect for maximum light and privacy!
The plantation shutters in this photo are installed on a victorian sash type window and are outside mounted. To read more information about measuring shutters correctly for these windows read the detailed shutter measuring guide for outside mount windows.
