"A friend of mine had done their research when looking for wooden shutters and had bought his shutters from The California Company. He had researched the wooden shutters that were for sale from different companies but discovered that the vast majority of shutter companies out there sell exactly the same shutter! There is no difference and they're all made in the same place. He was put off by this and felt that even although they were wooden shutters they looked a little plastic and didn't look like true wood.

Anyway, he is in Windsor also, so I saw his shutters when they were installed. I liked then and therefore was comfortable ordering my wooden shutters from The California Company.

I read over the information on the website and have to say that I found the wooden shutters measuring guide very easy to understand. I checked my measurements a couple of times and placed the shutters order online. Although in the shutter design guide is suggests having white wooden shutters with uPVC windows, I wanted a wood stain. If I was paying the money for wood shutters I wanted them to look like wood and felt that the walnut stain I wanted for my french door shutters would match my furniture better.

The service was great. I placed the order and got a call back the same day to run through the details of what I had input. Everything was correct, so I was pretty pleased with myself.

The shutters arrived, well packaged, and the communication was good - I got an email to say where to print my instructions and installed the shutters within 2 hours. Pretty good going I'd say! Not a lot to it as everything arrived ready to install.

I think the shutters, in walnut stain, look superb. The big shutters slats give in plenty of light and make the place feel modern.

Overall, the best french doors in Windsor I'd say!
