Perfect Bayswater London Internal Shutters

The Newman’s from Bayswater, London were looking for interior shutters for their Victorian home. They first contacted The California Shutters Company in late 2007 and ordered both painted and stained wood samples to help them choose the right colour for their interior shutters. Having placed an order initially for 1 set of shutters for a bedroom window, the DIY shutters self installation was so successful that they have just completed the second installation of shutters on another window in their Bayswater home.

“Being pensioners we liked the traditional look of interior shutters that Victorian properties used to have. These shutters were missing from our Bayswater home and we wanted to install shutters that would help create this original look.

My wife had seen these plantation shutters on other peoples' homes around the Bayswater and Kensington areas and I then went online to look for these internal shutters and companies who supply them. It was therefore through online searching that I found the California Company.

My wife ordered different samples including a golden oak stained shutter sample and white wood sample. She opted for the white shutters instead of the oak stained shutters. It was also our preference to go for the smaller shutters slat size, which was 47mm.

The first set of shutters looked great, so much so that we came back and ordered shutters for another larger window. Both windows had café style shutters which give us privacy as the window of our Bayswater home is so close to the street.

The installation was straightforward and I especially liked the fact that the shutters came with the magnets already in the shutter panels. This made installation easy.

All dealings I had with The California Company were positive. The experience buying my shutters was good, with helpful staff. My main advice to anyone buying internal shutters is simple – get the measurements right!”
