Our house is very close to the road in Hastings and with the shutters I now have (full height panels with a mid rail) I can adjust the slats separately top and bottom. I therefore have privacy on the bottom half when people walk past but full light in the top half of the shutters. We love them and when closed they give a very warm, continental feel and seem to reduce noise and draughts
