Living in picturesque Fortrose, near Inverness in North Scotland certainly has it's advantages. A lovley way of life and stunning scenery to name but a few. However, when Vicki came to find window shutters for her home, she didn't have a plethora of Scottish Shutters companies to choose from in her local area. "Our new house in Inverness is near the sea and we wanted to go with a beach house theme. We did not want curtains but wanted privacy and window shutters seemed an ideal choice. We looked at blinds and curtains but very much wanted a sophiscated solution that would add value to the house and interior shutters seemed to be the natural choice.
We did a lot of research on plantation shutters manufacturers and quality, and looked on the web. As we live in the north of Scotland, there is not a lot of choice locally. We had already had wood blinds from your company had had been delighted with them so took the plunge and went for window shutters.
The information about installing plantation shutters on the website was clear and while we were going to install them ourselves, we had a huge space to cover we decided to ask our joiner to fit them. He fitted all of the shutters for a very large room in an afternoon!
There was a good range of shutters colours to choose for the shutters. We had a large space to cover and we wanted a light and 'beach house' feel. We spoke to The California Company on the phone and asked for colour samples and also took advice about slat size and configuaration. Chrissie was really helpful and very patient in helping us.
Overall the service received could not be faulted. The office was superb and also corrected a few of my mistakes and saved us from ordering the wrong thing! It was very straighforward and the team were great - we emailed photos of our windows and they emailed back with idiot proof shutter measuring directions"
