Shrewsbury Man has DIY Shutters Success

The Carringtons have a lovely home just outside Shrewsbury. However their front door left them somewhat exposed. Being on the bend of the road there was lots of traffic coming around the corner. Shutters ended up being the chosen option for the Carringtons who live just outside Shrewsbury but whatever window treatment was used (be it plantation shutters, wooden blinds or curtains) it would have to not only look great, but be help give privacy and still give access to the front door.
Plantation shutters gave the perfect solution as the shutters slats could be tilted to give the hallway area of the Shropshire home some privacy while allowing light to enter into the room. The DIY Shutters installation was over a large area and the Carringtons were advised by The California Shutter Company to 'split' the installation of the shutters into 2 separate parts. The large fixed window feature 2 shutters mounted in their own 4 sided shutter frame. These shutters panels are more or less staying with the shutters panels closed over and the slats tilted at a slight angle to give privacy. The other 2 wooden shutters over the front door are hinged so open and fold back easily as they will be opened more often.

We are really delighted with the end result of our shutters. The best part about the service we received when ordering our shutters was the help and assistance we got from the office. Apart from the information on the website which was very useful in helping us measure our windows for shutters, the photos we were emailed clearly showed where to measure for the shutters. Your staff clearly know what they are doing and when I sent photos through of my window they were able to tall me all the things I should look out for and consider when measuring for my shutters.

Shutters are not that common around Shrewsbury although I have seen a couple of blinds shops in Shropshire advertising wooden plantation shutters. I wanted to save cost and this was the reason I went down the DIY shutters route. I not only saved a lot of money by installing the shutters as DIY Shutters option but the quality of the shutters is fantastic and I achieved exactly what I wanted. I will come back for more!
