Shutters Shutter Installation Fixing Shutter Frame

Self Installation instructions for custom made shutters

STEP 2 - Fixing your shutter frame into position

1. Lift assembled frame and offer up to window. See photo below.

2. Confirm the correct positioning of the frame

  • Fitting inside the recess up tight to window means panels will bifold and sit at a 90 degree angle to window within the recess
  • Fitting inside the recess but at the front of the opening means panel hinges will fold 180 degrees. Panels can swing back and sit against the wall in the room. Opened back panels will sit either side framing the window
  • Outside mounting or a face fix means fixing to the window surround or directly onto the face of the window frame ( typical of sash / casement windows )
  • When you are happy with the position of the frame, insert a bradawl or small screwdriver through the predrilled holes in the frames and MARK where you need to drill your holes.

3. Remove the frame, drill the holes & use appropriate wall fixings as required

4. Position frame back into position, screw to secure in place.
You can then use the small wood caps provided to cover the holes in frames.
