When to use an Extra Deep Frame
An extra deep frame is required when the window has large protruding handles. The most typical type of window requiring extra deep frames are the white or wood-effect UPVC double-glazed windows. These large handles can obstruct the slats opening and closing. The additional depth of the frame sets the shutter panels at a sufficient distance from the handles. This allows the slats to rotate fully without the risk of them hitting the window handles.
The extra deep frame can be used for Inside and Outside Mount installations as well as all types of bay windows. Please refer to the separate guides for further detail.
If you would like further advice on your actual window, please email a clear digital image to hello@thecaliforniacompany.co.uk . Ensure all curtains are moved away from the window and that handles and the full window is in the photo. We recommend downloading and printing the PDF below.
