How to Measure a Velux Window
Plantation shutters offer a great window treatment for velux windows. The main consideration is that the shutter panel will be in situ the majority of the time, with the slats being tilted opened and closed as the main means of controlling light into the room. The shutter panel is mounted right inside the velux frame in the same place where traditional velux roller blinds would be mounted.
At The California Company we have developed our own unique frame for installing shutters on velux brand window. This shutter frame is angled to fit directly into the velux window frame making installation easy.
Due to the depth restrictions of the velux window frame we offer either 47mm or 64mm slats.
Measuring a velux window is easy
- Measuring the width and drop by measuring the very tightest measurement of the glass. This is the point where the glass meets the velux frame
- We make all required deductions and calculations.
Please refer to the diagram below that shows exactly where to measure.
