OK – wood shutters. They are an investment and there are several companies selling them online. So what makes our shutters different and what do you need to know when ordering?
You can dive in right away and order your wooden shutters but please take 1 minute of your time to read this. You’re about to spend your hard earned money, so at least know what you’re buying by reading below……
- Shutters look fantastic. They are very fashionable, give a clean look to a room and are exceptionally adaptable and flexible in how they’re used.
- Our shutters are exceptionally high quality.
- They are manufactured from 100% hardwood, American Yellow Poplar for painted shutters or Elm for wood stains.
- Mona Lisa was painted on Poplar - not MDF or engineered poplar.
- Why do shutters need to be made from hardwood? Hardwood is strong - shutters are under stress with slats tilting and panels opening. MDF is wood dust, glue and formaldehyde. Not up to the job long term really – well in our opinion and experience anyway.
- Shutters are delivered in 7-8 weeks. It may seem a long time but it’s worth the wait for such a high quality shutter product. They take this time as they are custom made exactly to your dimensions. Don’t buy something in ‘off the shelf sizes’ – a nightmare to try and adjust.
- Wooden shutters are simple to install. Most of the hard work is done by us. We pre-mitre all the frames, attached hinges and pre-drill any holes if required.
